Tim Nixon, Business Development Manager at NAPIT, discusses the importance of providing the next generation of electricians with support and learning opportunities for World Youth Skills Day.
For young people joining the industry, it’s essential that they are equipped with the right skills and support. World Youth Skills Day, celebrated annually on July 15th, acknowledges skills development that young people need for employment.
At NAPIT, we understand it’s vital that young people are provided with the right support, education, training and skills to get into the industry and become registered under a competent person scheme.
It’s just as important for colleges and training centres to gain access to this type of support so that young people and educators can have the opportunity to thrive, develop their knowledge and enhance their skills.
NAPIT Foundation aims to provide this support to students, colleges and training establishments across the UK.
We aim to give learners a ‘foundation for success’ so they can get the best out of their education and help prepare them with the key skill set for working life.
By being part of NAPIT Foundation, we guide learners and lecturers with regulation updates, industry standards, technical guidance, CPD, and regular updates.
NAPIT resources such as training rigs, built for NAPIT Foundation partner colleges and NAPIT Training centres, help to assist with the practical and theoretical aspects of training.
We wish to highlight how crucial it is that young people have access to opportunities to help boost them to reach their full potential. NAPIT is proud to support colleges and students on their learning journey.
NAPIT Business Development Manager, Tim Nixon said: “NAPIT Foundation is supporting our next generation of electricians by giving them free access to CPD. Every month, NAPIT releases a new technical webinar by our experts on industry topics where the students can join in the live events.
“Each technical webinar is recorded and accessible through our NAPIT portal, giving them a huge back catalogue of information that can support them in their development. NAPIT is dedicated to supporting these students so that we can increase standards in the industry and show the importance of becoming registered under a competent person scheme.”
