As Chief Executive of the NAPIT Group, providing members with all the technical and regulatory information they need in order to work competently and safely is one of my key objectives. To provide this information to as many of our members across the country as possible, we take the annual NAPIT EXPO roadshow to as many locations as we can. The final leg for 2016 starts with Surrey on the 26th October.
These free-to-attend exhibitions, in partnership with the NAPIT Trade Association, contain a series of technical presentations and workshops which are presented by a selection of our highly qualified technical experts. What’s great is that the presenters open up their talks to the audience, giving our members the opportunity to discuss problems they may face in the field, and address any queries they have in regards to new industry regulations and standards with the professionals.
This year’s EXPO has so far been creating a lot of engagement with attendees who are raising questions within our seminars on Consumer Units, RCD’S and EICR coding. They are also getting an exclusive look into the upcoming 18th Edition of the Wiring Regulations by having the opportunity to ask questions of the IET’s Richard Townsend. Many have been enlightened by talks on CDM and risk assessment which, at some events, have been presented by the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB). The shows allow members to quiz the experts on matters within the industry that are affecting them and their day to day working lives.
EXPO is very rewarding for myself and my colleagues as we get to meet our members face to face, and discuss and resolve their matters there and then. We put a lot of effort into the preparation and planning of the roadshows to make sure we are providing relevant and up-to-date information for our attendees. The shows start from 4:00pm and go on until 8:00pm. We encourage members to come and join us from any time between then.
I can’t wait to get stuck into the last round of shows. We are touring the southern region of the country for the next half of the exhibitions, and already have a large number of registrations for our next show in Surrey. As ever, we have a great selection of supporting partners on hand offering their products and services at special show prices. Big name industry manufactures Schneider Electric, Scolmore and FLIR will be in attendance, as well NAPIT Registration, NAPIT Training and a wide selection of NAPIT’s own white-labelled services including, Drive, Direct, Insurance and Calibration.
NAPIT EXPO’s main ambition is to meet members face-to-face and provide them with the updated facts on industry standards and regulations, assisting them to work safely and competently within the workplace. The offering also provides them with the opportunity to network with likeminded people in the industry, and work alongside the Trade Association in a vigorous attempt to improve our industry for the better.
I look forward to meeting more members at the upcoming shows, and hope the members will take something beneficial from their evening with us, and the experts, at NAPIT On the Road 2016.
